Textreme Metal Braid (Size 2)
Textreme Metal Braid (Size 2) is a thin braid with changing colours for complete fly bodies and partial ribbings. Its woven form can be used as a defined structural element without covering the entire pattern. It suits flies where the body or selected ribbing should show a multicoloured, braided appearance while remaining a practical material to guide around the hook.
Construction and use
Wrap it over the full body when a continuous covering is required, or use it only on selected sections to mark segments. The braid can also be opened: removing the woven fibres produces a flat Mylar that can be used for wings and tails on small artificials. At the vise, secure the braid with several firm thread wraps before changing direction or trimming it. This keeps the woven structure controlled at the tie-in point.
