Akita 714BL Fly Hooks

Akita 714BL is a barbless hook for scud and nymph patterns. It is intended for flies imitating gammarus and other subsurface insects where the body should retain a clear, compact shape. Use it as a base for dubbing, shellback or other constructions matched to the planned silhouette.

Design and use

Arrange the materials to suit the proportions of a scud or nymph, leaving working room around the eye and point. The barbless point supports easier unhooking after the fight. The model can also be used for straightforward nymph patterns when their body and any added weight fit the intended tying space.
