Dr Slick Black 5.5 Clamp
Dr Slick Black 5.5 Clamp is a traditional locking fishing forceps measuring 5.5 inches (approximately 14 cm). Its straight jaws provide controlled handling when removing hooks from fish, crushing barbs or closing split shot. The ratchet-style lock keeps the jaws closed without continuous pressure on the finger loops, making the tool convenient for repeated bankside and boat use.
The jaws combine smooth and striated working sections. This allows the angler to select a gentler contact area for handling a hook or a more secure gripping surface when extra purchase is required. A pin positioned within the shank is intended for clearing blocked hook eyes and can also assist with opening small split shot.
The clamp is made from 410 Japanese stainless steel, hardened to 42 HRC, and supplied with a black finish. At 5.5 inches, it offers a useful balance between precise control and reach for everyday fly-fishing tasks. Wipe away moisture and debris after use. Following exposure to salt water, rinse the forceps thoroughly in fresh water, dry them and periodically apply a small amount of oil to the joint.
