Dr Slick Gold Scissor Clamp
Dr Slick Gold Scissor Clamp combines two frequently used streamside tools in one compact instrument. Its locking jaws provide a controlled grip for holding a hook while removing a fly from a fish, handling small tackle components or pressing down a barb. Serrated cutting blades positioned behind the finger loops can be used for trimming leader and tippet material or making quick adjustments to flies.
The straight jaws have a half-smooth, half-cross-hatched gripping surface, allowing the most suitable section to be used for the task at hand. The gold finish is applied to the finger loops, making the tool easier to spot in a fly box, waistcoat pocket or work area. The clamp is made from Japanese 410 stainless steel with a Rockwell hardness of 42.
This family is available in 4 in and 5.5 in lengths. The shorter version suits close, precise work with smaller flies, while the longer option provides additional reach. After use, rinse the clamp in clean water and dry it thoroughly. An occasional small drop of oil on the joint and locking mechanism will help maintain smooth operation.
