FFGene Black Steel Clipper

FFGene Black Steel Clipper is a compact leader nipper for making quick, neat cuts while fly fishing. It is useful when assembling a leader, changing flies or trimming the tag end left after tightening a knot. Its small format keeps it easy to carry and readily accessible, reducing the need to search through a fly box or pocket whenever a line needs cutting.

A needle fitted at the rear can be used to clear hook eyes blocked by varnish, adhesive or remnants of fly-tying material. The attached chain provides a practical way to connect the nipper to another item of fishing equipment and helps reduce the chance of losing it beside the water. Its approximate dimensions are 55 x 13 x 11 mm.

After use, dry the nipper and remove any short pieces of line from around the cutting edges. Use the cleaning needle carefully and guide it in line with the hook eye rather than forcing it at an angle. The cutting edges are intended for fishing line and fine fly materials; cutting wire may blunt or damage them.
