FFGene Krystal Flash
FFGene Krystal Flash consists of fine, textured reflective synthetic strands. Its delicate construction adds controlled sparkle without making a wing unnecessarily bulky. The strands move in water and suit streamer wings, baitfish imitations and smaller flies whenever a restrained flicker is required rather than a heavy flash accent.
Construction and use
Use the material as individual strands, in small bundles, or blended with hair and other fibres. The fine strands are easy to separate, measure and shorten after they have been tied in. For a clean attachment, hold the chosen amount over the hook, secure it with loose thread wraps first, adjust the length, then tighten the wraps and finish the tie-in.
- Streamer wings: place a few fibres inside or on top of a wing for a controlled reflective accent.
- Tail and flank: short sections add a flash point to a tail or form a lateral line on a baitfish pattern.
- Blending: mix Krystal Flash with synthetic hair to spread the reflection while retaining movement.
- Preparation: work with small portions and trim the ends after securing them; an overly dense bundle restricts fibre movement.
