FFGene Mirage Dubbing
FFGene Mirage Dubbing is a blend of synthetic fibres and natural fur, enriched with shimmering flash elements. Its medium fibre length offers a useful balance between control during tying and a lively, textured surface. The material is aimed at medium-sized flies, particularly nymphs, streamers and lake patterns, and is well suited to forming both bodies and abdomens.
Construction and use
Start with a small amount on the thread and twist it progressively to keep the body even rather than bulky. If a more open profile is needed, use a dubbing loop and lightly brush the finished twist. The medium fibres respond well to this treatment, leaving a controlled texture while allowing the flash elements to catch and reflect light underwater.
