FFGene Regular Tungsten Beads Metallic are tungsten fly-tying beads with a central hole for conventional mounting on a hook. The compact bead provides concentrated ballast, making it suitable for flies that need to descend quickly through the water column.

Construction and use

The metallic finish reflects light and forms a visible part of the head. The central hole allows the bead to be threaded onto the shank before tying begins. Choose the diameter for the hook size, eye and intended fly profile; check before tying that the bead passes over the eye and seats correctly. Tungsten places substantial ballast in a compact form, but the selected size still affects the fly’s proportions and tracking.
