FFGene Rubber Grip Wide Clipper
FFGene Rubber Grip Wide Clipper is a compact leader nipper for making quick, neat cuts when tying on or changing flies. It removes the short tag end left beside a knot without requiring a larger pair of scissors or pliers. Its small format makes it easy to keep in a fishing waistcoat pocket, tackle bag or close at hand with the other tools used while adjusting a leader.
The widened rubber grip provides a broader contact area for the fingers, helping the nipper sit securely in the hand during repeated rig changes. At the opposite end is a needle for clearing a blocked hook eye, whether it has been covered by head cement or obstructed by a small remnant of fly-tying material. An attachment hole allows the tool to be connected to a retractor, safety cord or another keeper selected by the angler.
For a clean cut, place the leader between the cutting edges and press them together without twisting the nipper sideways. It should not be used on wire or other hard items that could damage the cutting surfaces. After fishing, wipe away moisture and dirt, then allow the tool to dry thoroughly before storage. Its approximate dimensions are 60 × 21 × 14 mm.
