FFGene Silicone Tubes Large (3x5) is large, elastic silicone tubing with a hollow centre for building bodies and ribs. Wind it on the hook shank as a continuous body material, or leave spaces between turns to create distinct segments and ribbing. The nominal Large (3x5) size suits larger flies, streamers and patterns that call for a fuller profile.

Construction and use

Secure the tubing at the rear and bring it forward with even tension. Touching turns produce a continuous body surface, while spaced turns leave visible gaps between segments. The tubing can also be used as a separate rib over a thread or dubbing underbody. Tie off the front with several thread wraps, trim the excess and finish the head without crushing the hollow centre.
