FFGene Spectra Mylar 6 mm
FFGene Spectra Mylar 6 mm is hollow, open-braided tubing that combines a coloured braid with contrasting reflective strands. It forms an outer body skin for flies and streamers, placing the colour and broken reflections over a prepared underbody. The 6 mm nominal size provides a starting point for matching the tubing to the underbody diameter and the profile being built.
Construction and use
Prepare a smooth underbody, slide the braid over it, and leave sufficient material beyond both ends of the body. Stretching narrows and lengthens the tubing, while compression widens it; the underbody supplies the finished profile. Tie the material in at both tie-in points and secure the cut ends against fraying. Apply even tension while positioning the braid so the coloured and reflective strands remain controlled around the body.
