FFGene Tungsten Cone Heads

FFGene Tungsten Cone Heads are dense tungsten cone heads for constructing streamers and Muddler-style patterns. Their main role is to add compact ballast, allowing the finished fly to descend quickly into deeper water layers.

Construction and use

Thread the cone head onto the hook shank before tying, passing the hook eye through its opening and positioning the wider section at the front of the fly. Select the size to suit the hook eye, shank diameter and intended profile; check before tying that the opening passes freely over the eye and that the cone will not restrict the materials. Tungsten supplies concentrated weight for streamers fished in deep pools, elevated water and faster currents. The head can be stabilised with tying materials and finished at the rear where it meets the body.
