FFGene Tungsten Hot Beads

FFGene Tungsten Hot Beads are tungsten beads with a central hole and a bright coloured finish. They combine compact ballast with a distinct front-of-fly colour accent for nymphs, wet flies and other patterns that use a bead head.

Construction and use

Mount the bead conventionally by sliding it over the hook eye before starting the dressing. Match it to the eye, shank diameter and proportions of the fly, then check that it passes over the eye and does not bind at the bend. Tungsten concentrates weight at the front and can speed the descent, while the final behaviour also depends on the materials and retrieve. The bright finish is a visual feature rather than additional ballast.
