FFGene Tungsten Slotted Beads Fl. Orange (10)

FFGene Tungsten Slotted Beads Fl. Orange (10) is a slotted tungsten bead for weighting nymphs, jigs and streamers. Tungsten provides compact ballast, while the fluorescent orange finish adds a distinct colour accent to the fly’s front.

Construction and use

The slot makes it easier to place the bead on a hook when the bend makes a central hole difficult to pass, with particular value on jig hooks. After fitting the hook, slide the bead into position and check that it seats securely at the eye. Choose the bead size in relation to the hook and fly profile, and check that the slot and opening clear both the hook eye and bend before tying.

• Material: tungsten supplies compact weighting and helps take the fly down quickly.
• Construction: the slotted design supports fitting on jig hooks and selected conventional hook shapes.
• Finish: fluorescent orange forms a visible colour element at the front of the fly.
• Fitting: check the slot against the eye and bend of the particular hook after seating the bead.
