FFGene Tungsten Twin Eyes
FFGene Tungsten Twin Eyes are paired tungsten eyes mounted at the front of a fly as compact ballast. The joined eye element forms a defined head and helps increase the sink rate of the finished pattern.
Construction and use
Tie the eyes crosswise to the hook shank, securing them with thread wraps in a figure-eight pattern. Several passes in front of and behind the element hold it in position; finishing wraps, varnish or resin can protect the binding. Choose the size after checking the intended head width, the space around the hook eye and the proportions of the complete fly. Tungsten provides compact ballast, so the position of the eyes affects the centre of gravity and the fly’s attitude in the water.
