Flash Back

Hareline Flash Back is a thin reflective sheet with a bright finish, intended mainly for nymph wing cases, shellbacks and cut wing details. At approximately 24 × 8 cm, it can be trimmed to suit the hook and body, from a narrow strip for a small thorax to a broader section for a larger back.

Construction and use

Cut the required strip or shape before tying. Secure the material at the rear of the nymph, build the underbody, then pull the sheet over the body and tie it off at the head. Use moderate tension to keep the wing case even, and trim the excess after it has been locked in place. The sheet can also be folded, divided into narrow sections or cut into wing details for streamers.
