Greys Line Clipper Tool
Greys Line Clipper Tool is a compact, multi-purpose leader nipper designed for routine fly-fishing rigging work. Its primary function is to trim leader and tippet material neatly, including the short tag ends left after tying on a fly. The small format makes it convenient to keep close at hand when wading, changing a pattern or rebuilding part of a leader at the waterside.
The stainless-steel construction combines the cutting jaws with a knot-tying aid, a hook-eye cleaner and a hook sharpener. These integrated features cover several common tasks without requiring a separate tool for each one: preparing the leader, clearing material from a blocked hook eye and touching up a dulled hook point. The cutting edge is finished by hand for sharp performance and can be resharpened after prolonged use.
To preserve the cutting edge, the clipper should be reserved for leader and tippet materials rather than hard wire. After fishing, remove moisture and deposits, then dry the tool thoroughly before storage. Occasional inspection of the cutting faces, eye cleaner and sharpener will help keep every function ready for use.
