H2O Slinky Blend 12 inch (flash)

H2O Slinky Blend 12 inch (flash) is a long, 12-inch synthetic strand material for streamers with a defined baitfish profile. Its combined fibres allow layered colour effects, while the flash element adds a reflective accent to a wing, back or lateral line. The material length is useful for larger patterns and leaves enough surplus for gradual tapering after tie-in.

Construction and use

Trim the bundle only after tying it in and checking the outline, since the 12-inch length allows the final size to be selected for each streamer. It can form the main wing, an underlayer or a long tail. Work with small bundles; firm, distributed thread wraps along the hook shank help prevent twisting while preserving fibre movement.

• Large wings: layer the longer fibres to create a full but controlled baitfish profile.
• Flash accent: use a modest portion along the side, back or tail for added reflection.
• Underlayer: tie the material beneath shorter fibres to support the silhouette of a larger fly.
• Trimming: comb the strands, mark the desired outline and shorten the ends gradually rather than removing too much at once.
