H2O Super UV Flash
H2O Super Uv Flash consists of loose synthetic strands for adding a reflective accent to streamers and other flies that benefit from a distinct lateral element. The material reacts to or reflects UV light, increasing the visibility of the fibres when UV reaches the fly. Fine strands can be used individually, tied in small bundles or blended with synthetic wing hair to control the volume, taper and movement of the finished pattern.
Construction and use
Separate a few strands before tying and cut them to the planned length of the wing, tail or streamer belly. Secure the bundle firmly at the tie-in point with several thread wraps, then finish the attachment with a small amount of suitable fly-tying cement. Add successive small bundles in layers and comb the fibres between steps rather than making one dense bunch. Super Uv Flash can also provide a restrained accent in wet flies and nymphs where a small amount of reflective material is appropriate.
