Hareline Angora Goat Dub
Hareline Angora Goat Dub is a natural dubbing made from long, translucent and distinctly coarse Angora goat fibres. Its texture recalls traditional seal-fur dubbing, so it is useful whenever a body should remain luminous, spiky and clearly defined after it becomes wet rather than forming a smooth, compact surface.
Construction and use
Apply the material sparingly to waxed thread or secure it in a dubbing loop, then brush the finished body. The longer fibres create a lively outline on large nymphs and salmon flies. They can also be cut shorter or blended with a softer dubbing when a finer, easier-to-control mixture is required.
- Material: coarse, translucent Angora goat fibres.
- Effect: a bright, deliberately spiky body with natural irregularity.
- Uses: large nymphs, salmon, steelhead and wet-fly patterns.
- Technique: waxed thread or a dubbing loop followed by brushing.
