Hareline Barred Pseudo Hair
Hareline Barred Pseudo Hair is loose synthetic hair with a contrasting barred pattern. It builds large streamer wings and silhouettes without requiring pre-cut strips. The fibres can be separated into smaller bundles, layered, blended or trimmed to control the length and bulk of the fly. The barred pattern remains a clear visual accent along the finished profile while the loose form allows the tier to decide how much material each section receives.
Construction and use
Use it for large freshwater and saltwater streamers, including flies with a zonker-like wing profile. Select a modest bundle, align the ends or keep a slightly varied taper, and tie it firmly to the hook shank. Additional bundles can be stacked from shorter to longer to shape a baitfish outline. After securing the thread wraps, separate the fibres with a bodkin or comb and trim only those extending beyond the intended profile.
- Form: loose synthetic fibres supplied for hand-selected bundles.
- Pattern: contrasting bars emphasize the streamer wing and sides.
- Use: large freshwater flies, saltwater flies and zonker-style profiles.
- Tying: build in layers and keep the bundle size proportional to the fly.
