Hareline Chenille
Hareline Chenille is a classic chenille for building the bodies of nymphs, woolly-style flies and streamers. Fibres are arranged around a central core, making it possible to form an even, fibrous body without adding multiple separate materials. Fine, medium and large profiles can be selected to match the required body volume and hook size.
Construction and use
Expose a short section of the core at the chenille end and tie it in near the rear of the hook shank. Wrap the material in adjoining turns, sweeping the fibres back before each turn. A finer profile builds a smaller body, while a larger profile increases width more quickly; select the version according to the proportions of the pattern. When the body is complete, secure the core, trim the waste and even the fibres as needed.
- Form: chenille with fibres arranged around a central core.
