Hareline Crab Bits
Hareline Crab Bits are preformed Kiley’s crab-leg components designed to be paired with Kiley’s Crab Skinz. Each component is ready to tie in at its root, allowing crab-style fly patterns to receive consistent legs or feelers without cutting and shaping a sheet. The family includes size 1, 1/0 and 2 variants, while the finish depends on the selected colour.
Construction and use
Choose the size in proportion to the body length and overall hook scale. Tie the components in singly or in pairs at their roots after arranging the legs in relation to the hook shank. Start with a few broad, light thread wraps to hold the position, then increase pressure gradually and finish the tie-in at the base. Kiley’s Crab Bits can be matched with Kiley’s Crab Skinz in a comparable scale for a coordinated crab pattern.
