Hareline Crosscut Rabbit Flesh Strips Two Tone
Hareline Crosscut Rabbit Flesh Strips Two Tone are two-colour rabbit-hide strips cut across the hair direction. This construction is intended for wrapping around the hook shank: as the strip is wound, the fibres sweep back to form a mobile collar or body on a larger fly.
Construction and use
Part the hair at the tie-in point and expose a small section of hide before tying. Secure the tip, wrap the strip with even tension, and direct the fibres rearward after each turn so they remain clear of the next wrap. The two-tone arrangement keeps contrasting colours in the wrapped component. Use the strips for large pike streamers and sea-trout patterns where a broad, moving profile is required.
- Material: rabbit fur.
- Cut: across the direction of the hair.
- Form: strip designed for wrapping the shank.
- Uses: collars and bodies on larger streamers.
