Hareline Diamond Braid
Hareline Diamond Braid is a continuous braided material for forming slim fly bodies and segmented sections. It is wrapped directly around the hook shank to create an even, orderly surface. The braid suits small midge imitations as well as streamers and Bonefish flies where a compact body is required.
Construction and use
Tie in the end of the braid at the rear of the body, then wrap it forward in even turns while controlling the overlap so gaps do not appear. At a segment boundary, make a deliberate separating wrap or use the braid as a rib. Secure the front with several thread turns, cut away the excess and finish with the adhesive or finish used for the pattern. Match the braid’s handling and profile to the hook size and the intended body shape.
- Form: continuous braid designed for wrapping.
- Finish: reflective surface.
- Technique: even wraps for bodies, segments or ribbing.
- Uses: midges, streamers and Bonefish flies.
