Hareline Fishair

Hareline Fishair consists of very fine, stiff synthetic fibres for streamer wings. The material does not absorb water, helping the fly remain light. One side of the bundle is fused, making it easier to remove material without tangling or scattering the remaining fibres. Small sections can be separated, layered and trimmed to create either a slim baitfish profile or a fuller wing.

Construction and use

Fishair suits freshwater and saltwater flies, particularly streamer wings, tails, sides and backs. Cut a small amount from the fused bundle, align the ends and secure it firmly to the hook shank. For a larger fly, add several thin layers instead of one bulky clump. Once tied in, separate the fibres, shape the baitfish profile and trim any projecting ends.
