Hareline Grizzly Flutter Legs
Hareline Grizzly Flutter Legs are flat silicone strands barred on both faces. Their contrasting grizzly pattern and flat profile provide a mobile material for legs, feelers, tails and side accents on flies. The flat strand can present a broader profile than round fibre, allowing the tier to control both the silhouette and the amount of visible barring.
Construction and use
Separate the required number of strands and tie them in at one or more points according to the intended leg arrangement. Use moderate thread pressure so the flat silicone is not cut. For a pair of legs, position the material on both sides of the hook shank; for a tail or feelers, secure it at the rear and even the length after the tie-in. Leave the ends free when movement is required, or trim them to shorter lengths on small patterns. The bars are present on both faces, so the strand can be turned during tying without losing the printed pattern.
