Hareline Hares Ear Plus Dub
Hareline Hare’s Ear Plus Dub extends classic rabbit dubbing by adding pronounced guard hairs and a small amount of Antron. The natural base supplies muted, uneven colour transitions, the stiffer fibres create a buggy outline, and the synthetic component contributes a restrained glint rather than an overpowering metallic shine.
Construction and use
Twist it directly onto thread for abdomens or use a dubbing loop for fuller bodies. After wrapping, pull out selected fibres with a brush or hook-and-loop tool to suggest legs and gills. Compared with regular Hareline Dubbin, the finished body is more deliberately spiky and already includes a subtle light-catching accent.
- Blend: rabbit fur, guard hairs and a small proportion of Antron.
- Effect: naturally mottled, spiky bodies with discreet sparkle.
- Uses: Hare’s Ear nymphs, caddis larvae, wet flies and soft hackles.
- Finish: brushing exposes fibres that imitate legs and gills.
