Hareline McFlyfoam
Hareline McFlyfoam is a soft, continuous yarn with a stretchy, multi-fibre structure. It can be cut, shaped and trimmed into compact bodies, making it especially useful for egg imitations and sculpted streamer heads and bodies. The material allows a three-dimensional profile to be formed without assembling the body from many separate pieces.
Construction and use
Tie the yarn to the hook shank, lay it along the shank, or wind it according to the pattern being tied. For an egg, use several wraps, secure the material, then cut and shape the fibres into a compact form. For larger sculpted patterns, trim gradually to establish the taper from the head into the body. McFlyfoam can also be used for woolhead flies and heads shaped to imitate sculpins.
