Hareline Micro Polar Chenille
Hareline Micro Polar Chenille is a fine long-fibre chenille for wrapping and building mobile bodies on small flies. Fibres extend around the core, leaving a soft, open surface rather than the smooth finish of a braid. The Micro format helps maintain balanced proportions on smaller hooks.
Construction and use
Tie in the core and wrap it in adjacent turns, sweeping the fibres back before each turn. Secure the end with tying thread, then separate or lightly trim the fibres if needed. Wider spacing produces a slimmer body, while closer turns build more volume. The material suits small nymphs, scuds, wet flies and streamers where the fibres can move as the fly is retrieved. It may also be used for a short collar or a mobile thorax on a compact pattern.
- Form: long-fibre chenille on a core, made for wrapping.
