Hareline Midge Tubing
Hareline Midge Tubing is hollow, elastic body tubing for constructing fly bodies. It can be wound as a continuous body or used as ribbing to create a regular segmented profile. The family is available in colour variations including Grey, Blood Red, Red, White, Chartreuse, Pheasant Tail and Dark Golden Stone.
Construction and use
Select a colour that suits the underbody and the intended body tone, then cut the required length of tubing. Tie in the rear end, stretch the material towards the eye and wind it in touching turns when a complete body is wanted. Leaving spaces between turns produces defined ribbing. Secure the front end at the eye, trim the excess and finish the head. Its elasticity helps it follow a shaped underbody while retaining the hollow tube form.
