Hareline Para Post Wing
Hareline Para Post Wing is a synthetic fibre material treated with Water Shed. An even bundle can form a parachute post, divided dry-fly wings or an emerger wing case. The amount of material can be adjusted to the hook size and the proportions of the pattern.
Construction and use
Separate a small bundle and align the fibres before tying in. For divided wings, split it into two equal sections and check their position from the front and above. For a parachute post, hold the fibres upright, reinforce the base with thread and wind the hackle around the post. An emerger wing case can be formed by laying a flattened bundle over the thorax. Water Shed helps the fibres resist wetting; the hook and complete dressing also contribute to the finished fly's flotation.
- Material form: synthetic fibres gathered into an even bundle.
- Treatment: the material is treated with Water Shed.
- Uses: parachute posts, divided dry-fly wings and emerger wing cases.
- Technique: align the fibres, adjust bundle volume and secure with controlled thread wraps.
