Hareline STS Trilobal Dub

Hareline STS Trilobal Dub is a synthetic dubbing whose three-sided fibres reflect and refract light from changing angles. The medium-length strands form a translucent, slightly spiky profile reminiscent of seal-style dubbing. STS refers to salmon, trout and steelhead applications, although the material is by no means limited to flies for those species.

Construction and use

It twists easily onto thread and also performs well in a dubbing loop for fuller collars. After wrapping, brush it out and blend it with other STS colours or a small amount of contrasting Ice Dub. Unlike smooth dubbings, it creates a luminous three-dimensional surface that remains distinct on both larger and smaller patterns.
