Hareline Ultra Chenille
Hareline Ultra Chenille is a compact chenille for building fly bodies. Wound on the hook shank, it creates an even, full-bodied profile for streamers, larger nymphs and other flies that call for a body formed from one material. Its construction lets the tier place adjacent turns cleanly, without arranging separate bundles of fibres.
Construction and use
Before tying, cut the required section and expose a short part of the core so the chenille can be secured firmly. Wrap the material in close turns while keeping steady tension; gently sweep the fibres back before each turn where needed. Choose the material size to match the intended body profile: finer versions suit slimmer nymph bodies, while larger versions build broader streamer bodies. Once the body is complete, tie off the core securely and trim away the excess.
