Hareline Velvet Chenille
Hareline Velvet Chenille is chenille for forming fly bodies. Its soft, velvet-like surface builds an orderly body on the hook shank without the character of a long-fibre hackle material. It suits streamers, nymphs and patterns that require a compact, clearly defined body.
Construction and use
Expose a short section of the core before tying it in at the start of the body. Wind the chenille in adjacent turns, controlling tension so the fibres lie evenly and no gaps remain. Secure and trim the end at the front of the body. Select the appropriate version for the desired body volume, and adjust the number of turns to the length of the abdomen or streamer body.
- Form: chenille intended for winding.
- Surface: soft, velvet-like and compact.
- Profile: orderly body with controlled bulk.
