Hedron Flashabou Magnum
Hedron Magnum Flashabou is broad, flat reflective flash for building visible accents in flies. Its flat surface reflects light, while the individual strands can add movement to a streamer wing, tail or side. Control the amount of flash by changing the number of strands rather than tying an overly dense bundle that could restrict the movement of other materials.
Construction and use
Measure a few strands, cut them to the required length and tie them in as a small, firmly secured bundle on the hook shank. They can be divided to the sides, placed beneath a wing, or layered with synthetic hair. On larger flies, trim the ends after securing the material so the length remains controlled and the rest of the profile can move freely.
- Form: broad, flat strands of reflective flash.
- Optical effect: metallic reflection and light flash; no holographic effect is specified.
- Uses: wings, tails, sides, backs and individual accents on larger streamers.
- Technique: use small bundles, secure them firmly and separate strands to encourage movement in water.
