Hedron Lateral Scale
Hedron Lateral Scale consists of wider reflective strands with a scale-like texture. It is intended for a pronounced lateral line and broad side accents on larger streamers. The material catches available light as the fly moves, while its greater width helps define a baitfish profile without adding a large number of separate strands.
Construction and use
Lay the strands along the sides of a fly, between wing materials, or over the back according to the profile being built. Work with short sections and secure them firmly with thread so the wider material stays aligned on the hook shank. When finishing a wing, trim the ends progressively to retain a smooth outline and allow the surrounding materials to move naturally.
- Form: wider reflective strands with a scale-like surface effect.
- Optical effect: metallic reflection and light flash; no holographic or opalescent effect is specified.
- Uses: lateral lines, backs, wings and larger streamer tails.
- Handling: tie in short sections, layer where needed and trim to the intended profile.
