Hedron Wing N' Flash
Hedron Wing N Flash consists of very fine, loose reflective fibres intended for light, mobile streamer wings. The fine construction adds a subtle, shimmering accent without producing a bulky bundle. It can also be cut into shorter pieces and blended with other fibres when the flash needs to be distributed through the fly’s profile rather than concentrated in one section.
Construction and use
Its main application is streamer wings, although small amounts can also be used in tails, lateral accents and mixed synthetic dubbing. Take a thin bundle, secure it with several tight thread wraps and arrange it to follow the wing shape. When more material is needed, build separate layers instead of one dense bunch. Taper or trim the ends after tying to keep the fly light and properly proportioned.
- Form: very fine, loose reflective fibres supplied in a hank.
- Wing building: create light, soft layers with a controlled amount of flash.
- Blending: cut short sections and add small amounts to other fibres or dubbing.
- Technique: secure thin bundles firmly, then trim the profile after tying.
