J:Son Wing Material Caddis/Stonefly Spent
J:son Wing Material Caddis/Stonefly Spent is thin printed wing film intended for cutting and heat shaping. It is designed for wings in patterns representing spent caddis and stoneflies resting on the surface. The printed layer may be used on its own or joined to a neutral layer for a double-wing construction.
Construction and use
Cut the wings to match the intended fly profile, leaving a small margin for refining the outline. For a double layer, align the printed and neutral pieces before shaping. Form the edges with a J:son wing burner, then remove the excess once the material has cooled. Place the finished component on the hook shank and secure it with several thread wraps while checking its position and wing spread.
