J:Son Wing Material Stonefly Adult

J:son Wing Material Stonefly Adult is a thin printed wing film for tying adult stonefly imitations. Its printed surface provides the characteristic stonefly wing pattern, while the film can be cut and heat-shaped to a precise outline. Use it for wings and other shaped details where a clear, controlled profile is needed during tying.

Construction and use

Cut the required outline from the film, leaving a slight allowance for finishing the edge. If the pattern calls for a double wing, the printed layer may be joined to a neutral layer before trimming. After cutting, place the piece in a suitable J:son wing burner and briefly heat the edge to form the desired profile. Work gradually and check the burner settings on a scrap before shaping the final piece. A waterproof marker can be used to add small details where required.
