J:Son Wing Material Stonefly Nymph
J:son Wing Material Stonefly Nymph is a thin printed wing film for tying stonefly-nymph imitations. The printed pattern helps reproduce detail on a wing or wing case, and the film can be trimmed and heat-shaped. It is useful for making small, clearly defined elements that can be sized to the hook and the proportions of the fly.
Construction and use
Cut the outline to match the hook and the intended fly profile, leaving a small margin for edge finishing. For a double wing, a printed layer may be joined to a neutral layer before the final trim. Put the prepared piece into a matching J:son wing burner and briefly heat the edge to create its final shape. Check the temperature and heating time on a scrap before working on the finished component. A waterproof marker may be used to add small accents to the printed surface.
