Keough Hackle Dry Fly Saddles
Keough Hackle Dry Fly Saddles is a tying material for dry flies. The saddle carries very long feathers, allowing many successive hackle turns from one feather and reducing the need to join separate sections. The product is available in Grizzly and carries feathers suited particularly to flies in sizes 12–18.
Construction and use
The long barbs make it easier to build regular dry-fly hackles. One feather can produce up to 50 hackles, helping maintain consistency when tying a series of flies. Before wrapping, check the barb length against the hook and select a section with even barb spacing. Choosing the appropriate part of the feather keeps the hackle in proportion to the pattern.
