Negnon Nylon Coated Stainless Steel Wire
Negnon Nylon Coated Stainless Steel Wire is a soft stainless-steel braid with a nylon coating, designed for making leaders for fish with sharp teeth. It combines the cut resistance of a metal core with the flexibility required when assembling a fly-fishing or spinning rig. It is a practical choice whenever an ordinary nylon or fluorocarbon leader could be severed during a take or fight.
The supple construction allows the material to be connected to a fly, lure or swivel with a suitable knot. It can also be finished with a crimp sleeve when this better suits the chosen rig. The nylon coating gives the braid a more orderly surface and makes it convenient to handle while preparing leaders to the required length.
Choosing the breaking strain
The range includes 5, 8, 10, 15, 20 and 30 lb versions. This makes it possible to match the leader to the size of the fly or lure, the expected fish and the character of the water without using unnecessarily heavy material. The lighter options suit more delicate rigs, while 20 and 30 lb provide a greater reserve for larger predators. Each spool contains 10 m of wire, enough to prepare a number of leaders in the length required for a particular method.
