Negnon Omega Orionis Plus 50 Percent Fly Line
Negnon Omega Orionis Plus 50 Percent is a floating WF fly line for fishing with fast, high-modulus graphite rods that benefit from a more pronounced loading impulse during the cast. Its increased head mass makes the blank’s response easier to feel as the loop is formed, particularly when a conventional line weight produces a response that feels too light or indistinct. It is intended for anglers who select a line deliberately to complement a fast rod and prefer a direct, clearly defined casting rhythm.
The defining feature of this family is a head that is approximately 50 per cent heavier than the conventional standard for its labelled class. This difference should be considered when pairing the line with a rod: the marking identifies the product class, while the head has been intentionally given substantially more mass. The family runs from WF2F to WF6F, carrying the same floating profile and handling concept across the full class range.
Profile and fishing use
Head mass is biased towards the rear, close to the transition into the running line. During the cast, the principal load is therefore felt nearer the back of the head. This profile gives a fast blank a positive loading signal and helps the caster recognise when the rod has taken up the line’s energy. The result is a controlled, deliberate tempo without relying solely on extra acceleration from the casting hand.
Omega Orionis Plus 50 Percent suits anglers whose fast rod feels too lightly loaded or insufficiently communicative with a conventional line of the same labelled class. The additional mass can be useful when working with less fly line beyond the rod tip, as the blank receives a more noticeable impulse earlier in the cast. Its rear-biased mass distribution gives the head a direct, manageable character, while the floating configuration allows the line to be controlled both on the surface and when presenting flies below it.
The fly line has a total length of 30 m. Its smooth Hi-Silk coating reduces friction as it passes through the guides, while the low-stretch braided core provides a clear response to rod movements and on-water line adjustments. The HI-Float front section keeps the tip sitting high at the surface. A factory-fitted front loop makes leader attachment straightforward, and the printed identification enables the class and line type to be checked quickly.
