No Hackle Pheasant tail
No Hackle Pheasant tail is a dry fly from the family of variants derived from the established Pheasant Tail dressings. The famous Pheasant Tail nymph was developed for the Hampshire Avon by English riverkeeper Frank Sawyer. This variant, however, is a lightweight surface fly.
Use it when trout and grayling are taking small mayflies from calm water. Present it with plenty of slack, particularly in sizes #18 and #20. The barbless hook makes releasing fish easier.
