Parachute CDC Pheasant Tail
Parachute CDC Pheasant Tail is a dry fly imitating a mayfly and belongs to the family of Pheasant Tail variants. The famous Pheasant Tail nymph was created by English river keeper Frank Sawyer on the Hampshire Avon. In this version, the pattern works on the surface during the calm feeding of trout and grayling.
Its parachute construction and CDC feathers from around the preen gland are well suited to glides, slower sections and riffles with an even current. Fish it only on a dead drift; choose sizes #16–18 for smaller insects. Barbless hook.
