Partridge W-49 Predator Leader Wire
Partridge W-49 Predator Leader Wire is a stainless-steel leader material for pike and other toothy predators. It is made from 49 strands of stainless-steel wire with a nylon coating, combining flexibility and pliability with resistance to kinking. The wire is easy to knot and has low stretch, helping the angler retain direct contact with the fly.
Use it as a strong bite tippet at the end of a fly-fishing leader or to make a complete wire leader for predator fishing. Its supple construction makes it easier to form neat connections and tailor the finished section to the fly, leader and attachment method being used. The material is suitable wherever sharp teeth could damage an ordinary nylon or fluorocarbon tippet.
Each pack contains 5 metres of wire. Select the required lb rating according to the size of the target fish, the weight of the fly and the demands of the water. After contact with a predator’s teeth, rocks or other hard structure, inspect the coating, wire and knots before fishing again.
