Rio Premier Creek Fly Line
RIO Premier Creek is a floating, weight-forward fly line developed for fishing small creeks and streams. Its profile is designed to load the rod efficiently at close range, so casts of 10–15 feet can be made without carrying a large amount of line beyond the rod tip. This is particularly useful where bankside vegetation restricts the casting space and successive lies are close to the angler. The head still retains enough length and body for occasions when an open section or a more distant target calls for a longer cast.
The family covers profiles from WF0F to WF5F, with the F designation identifying a floating line. This range allows the line to be matched to light outfits used on modest waterways while retaining the same central purpose: responsive loading with little line outside the guides and controllable extension when more distance is needed. The profile therefore suits anglers who spend more time making short, carefully directed presentations in confined surroundings than casting across broad rivers.
Profile and fishing use
A supple coldwater core helps the line remain manageable in lower temperatures and reduces its tendency to hold stiff coils. The SlickCast coating provides a smooth, low-friction surface, supporting clean passage through the guides as well as durability during regular use. MaxFloat Tip Technology uses a dedicated tip-coating formula that allows the tip to float more than twice as high as standard line tips without increasing its diameter. This helps the front of the line remain visible and responsive on the surface when controlling short drifts.
- Profile: floating WF line in sizes from WF0F to WF5F, designed for small creeks and streams.
- Close-range loading: built to load the rod on casts of 10–15 feet, while retaining sufficient head length for longer casts.
- Head control: DualTone marks the line’s effective sweet spot with a clear change of colour.
- Rigging and identification: EasyID prints the line designation on the line, while welded loops at both ends simplify connections to leader and backing.
RIO Premier Creek is chiefly intended for water where the outfit must begin working with only a short length of fly line outside the rod. It assists with controlling compact presentations, moving the fly repeatedly between nearby lies and adjusting casting distance as the width of a stream changes.
