Rio Suppleflex Tippet

RIO Suppleflex Tippet is a soft, supple tippet material designed for delicate fly presentation. It combines high strength with excellent knot strength, while its flexibility allows lightweight flies to move naturally in the current. This makes it particularly useful when a stiff terminal section could interfere with the drift or movement of a small fly.

Developed with trout fishing and smaller flies in mind, Suppleflex can be used as the final section of a leader, to replace worn tippet, or when building a leader to suit a particular approach. Its soft character supports subtle presentation on clear water and in situations where a light, natural-looking drift matters.

The available range runs from 4X to 7X. A higher X rating indicates finer tippet, so choose the size according to the fly, fishing conditions and the level of delicacy required. When tying on, moisten the knot, draw it down evenly and check both the knot and the nearby tippet before casting.
