Spirit River Flex Floss

Spirit River Flex Floss consists of continuous elastic strips for forming fly bodies, ribbing and small appendages. The material is offered in the colour variants of the Spirit River family and can be wound on the hook shank or cut into sections for legs and antennae. Its stretch allows the strip to follow the underbody and the shape of the finished body.

Construction and use

Cut the required length and tie it in at the rear of the body. When forming a body, keep Flex Floss under tension as you wind it forward; increased tension narrows and thins the strip, helping you control the profile. Touching turns can build a complete body, while spaced turns create ribbing. Secure the material with several controlled thread wraps so the elastic strip is not cut by excessive pressure.
